There's a New Guy in Charge of The DC Films and He's The Producer of IT and THE CONJURING
Warner Bros. has announced that producer Walter Hamada is the new head of their DC film division. The studio knew they needed to make some changes after Justice League didn't do as well as they had hoped it would.
This could be a good change because Hamada is a producer that has worked on films such as IT and The Conjuring franchise, which have all been great! It doesn't matter that they haven't been superhero films, the guy just has a great track record of making successful films.
Thanks to Variety, we have quotes from a statement by WB executive Toby Emmerich, talking about Hamada and he also reveals that DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns is still in the mix:
"Walter is creative, resourceful, and committed to excellence, and will bring those qualities to his oversight of our superhero films.
"I’m confident Walter and Geoff, working with our filmmaking partners, will deliver films that will resonate with both broad global audiences as well as DC fanboys and fangirls."
Warner Bros. has a lot of films in the pipeline and with this new team in place, there's a good chance that these DC films will get better. That's what we're all hoping for anyway! We'll know soon enough is Hamada is the right person for the job.
