There's a New T-800 Zombie Coming To ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP and We Have New Character Posters
We’ve got some interesting new details to share with you regarding what we can expect to see in Zombieland: Double Tap. We already knew about three new kinds of zombies being introduced to the film that include the Homers, a.k.a. the dumb ones, the Hawkings, a.k.a. the smart ones, and Ninjas, a.k.a. the deadly ones.
When talking about these new zombie classifications in a recent interview with Fandango, director Ruben Fleischer explained:
“I think our heroes are a little complacent because the zombies don’t present much of a challenge anymore. They’ve started to categorize them into different groups. There’s ones that they call Homers, who are kind of the dumber zombies. There are the Ninjas who are a little bit more crafty and they might sneak up on you. And then there’s the Hawkings, who are smarter zombies.”
The director then reveals a fourth zombie classification that sounds intriguing! This is a dangerous kind of zombie that you don’t want to mess with and it’s going to give the characters in the film a big challenge, and they call it the T-800. The director goes on to say:
“There’s a new kind of zombie that they haven’t met before called a T-800, a name for the infamous Terminator. These T-800s are much more dangerous, threatening form of zombie. For the first time, I think our heroes feel like they’re in true jeopardy because of this newly evolved form of zombie.”
The more I learn and see about this movie the more excited I get about watching it. Obviously this new T-800 zombie is going to be extremely hard for the team to take down. I wonder what it is that makes this T-800 zombie so powerful. I guess we’ll eventually find out!
A decade after Zombieland became a hit film and a cult classic, the lead cast (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone) have reunited with director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) and the original writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool) for Zombieland 2: Double Tap. In the sequel, written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.
Other new additions to the cast include Zoey Deutch, Rosario Dawson, Avan Jogia, Luke Wilson, and Thomas Middleditch. You can see a series of character posters for all of the characters in the film below.
Zombieland: Double Tap is set to be released on October 18th.
