There's a New WAR OF THE WORLDS Film in Development and Greg Kinnear is Looking To Star
Greg Kinnear is in talks to star in a new film adaptation of H.G. Wells’ classic sci-fi novel War of the Worlds.
The new film adaptation will was written by Misfits’ Howard Overman, and it will be a reimagined telling of Wells’ alien invasion story that is set in the present day. So I guess it’s taking a page from Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of the story.
This is said to be an ambitious project and would be one of the biggest gigs that Kinnear has landed in recent years. I always like Kinnear as an actor. He’s made some great films in his career and it would be good to see him land another great role in a project like this.
The film is being produced by Fox Networks Group Europe and it said to be very close to going into production.
BBC is also developing their own take on the classic novel. I’m really excited about that one because the story actually takes place in England during the Edwardian era, which is more faithful to the tone and spirt of the book.
What do you think about another modern day adaptation of War of the Worlds being developed?
