There's a QR Code Easter Egg Hidden in The READY PLAYER ONE Trailer - Join The Quest
Warner Bros. released the first trailer for Ready Player One today and fans were completely blown away by it! If you've read the book, you know the story centers around an Easter egg hunt and there are a ton of clues and challenges that they characters have to follow and complete to find the Easter egg.
Well, of course, they had to throw a little Easter egg in the trailer that takes the fans of the story on an adventure of their own. There's a scene in the trailer where we see a car being crashed into and thrown into the air and on the hood of that car there's a QR code. I included a screenshot of that below.
That QR code leads us to the website, Join The Quest, which is currently just a landing page for Innovative Online Industries. We search the source code and tried to find something else attached to it, but didn't find anything, but chances are it will end up leading to some kind of cool big viral marketing campaign for the film. We'll just have to wait and see.
Wouldn't it be awesome if this took fans on a real Easter egg hunt of their own!?
