There's a SILENT HILL Video Game Reboot Reportedly in Development for PlayStation

PlayStation and Konami are reportedly working together on a “soft reboot” of the classic horror video game franchise Silent Hill. These reports come from Rely on Horror and gaming industry insider Aesthetic Gamer.

According to them, the reboot is being created by Keiichiro Toyama, the director and writer of the original 1999 Silent Hill game. Franchise composer Akira Yamaoka and creature designer Masahiro Ito are also said to be returning to the series for the reboot which will simply titled Silent Hill.

Fans of the franchise are sure to be very happy with the creative team coming onboard the new game, and it will be produced by SIE Japan Studio, which is said to consist of team members from Project Siren.

The game has apparently been in development for about a year. There’s a good chance that the game will be officially announced at the PlayStation 5 reveal event. Until the game is officially announced, though, this is all just a rumor.

I’m a huge fan of the Silent Hill game franchise, and I’m actually pretty excited to see what’s in store for this reboot.
