There's Now a Robot That Exists That Has Martial Arts Skills

Unitree Robotics just introduced its G1 humanoid robot, and it’s flexing its martial arts skills. A new video showcases the robot executing high kicks, fluid stances, and precision strikes.

Designed with 23 degrees of freedom, this mechanical martial artist is a demonstration of just how advanced robotic movement has become. But before you start picturing a robot kung-fu showdown, Unitree is setting some ground rules: "Don’t teach it actual combat moves." Which is Probably for the best, as we’ve all seen how those AI uprisings start.

Now, while the robot can do Kung-Fu, Unitree envisions the robot assisting in homes, hospitals, and factories, handling repetitive tasks with tireless precision.

The robot comes with a price tag of $16,000, which is a hefty sum. But, that’s what it costs for a robot sparring partner.
