There's Something Really Messed Up Going on in The Woods in The BLAIR WITCH Gameplay Trailer

There’s a Blair Witch video game in development that is based on the lore that was set up in the original film. It’s kinda crazy that after all these years, there is actually still life in this franchise. While the first film was a big hit, the sequels never quite lived up to the bar it set.

Well, maybe this video game will change that and breathe some fresh life into the franchise that people will enjoy. The game is a first-person, story-driven psychological horror game being developed by Layers of Fear creator Bloober Team. Today we have a new trailer to share that features some actual gameplay footage that teases something really messed up in the creepy woods.

The game is set in 1996, before the events of the first movie, and “a young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods.”

This could actually be a fun game and maybe even the best new story entry in the franchise since the first film. Blair Witch launches August 30th for Xbox One and PC.

Bloober Team and Lionsgate Games have released the first official gameplay trailer for the upcoming Blair Witch. The new trailer features a look at some of the gameplay elements of the first-person psychological horror game: exploration, commands, combat, environmental interaction, and of course a taste of how players will interact with the canine companion Bullet.
