These Cards for FANTASY AGE Spells Look Like a Welcome Aid for Players and GMS Alike
I love Fantasy AGE. I think it’s a really fun tabletop RPG system. I love watching new supports come out for the system, and the latest support announced are the Fantasy AGE Arcana Cards. These cards are designed to have all the information you need about each spell on a handy card. This is perfect for GMs and players alike. First, it helps because you don’t have to flip through your Basic Rulebook any time you want to cast a spell. This is especially tedious for GMs who have mage enemies to figure spells out for constantly.
Second, in the Green Ronin blog post about the Arcana Cards, Owen Stephens talked about three ways to use randomly selected arcana. One idea is to use them to help you build NPCs and enemies as the GM. Deal a number of cards equal to the number of arcana the character knows and there you go. The random arcana used could even help the GM decide a theme for the character. Players could use this method as well when they build a character, but they probably have a theme already thought up. Another idea was to use the cards to give monsters random weaknesses.
Third, these cards look awesome. The icons on the cards quickly help users identify what type of arcana each card is. I’m very excited for the Fantasy AGE Arcana Cards which will be available as print-on-demand through DriveThruRPG starting October 30. The price is not yet known.
