These Fun Maternity Photos Take a Dark and Twisted ALIEN-Themed Turn
Expectant parents, Todd and Nicole Cameron of British Columbia, are big fans of the Alien franchise and they wanted to show off their fandom in a series of maternity photos. Things start out sweet and innocent but things end up escalating and taking a dark and twisted turn as she ends up giving birth to a Xenomorph during the photo session.
Todd Cameron talked to io9 about the photo shoot and how it came about saying:
“This particular idea came about when I was at a garage sale and found a model of an Aliens Chestburster. I brought it home, of course, and as I was putting it together and painting it, the idea of a maternity shoot came to me. Nicole wasn’t interested in a traditional maternity shoot so our planning began.”
He went on to talk about how much fun they had taking the photos:
“The funniest part for us was laying in a cold wet field, covered in fake blood and just laughing our hearts out, hoping that the farm hands wouldn’t drive by and see us in our current conditions. I have to give huge props to Nicole for shivering on a rainy day in the muddy pumpkin patch and getting splattered with blood all while eight and a half months pregnant.”
The photos have been getting mixed responses as some people think they are tasteless. When talking about those responses, he said:
“Some people have expressed distaste for the photo shoot but the interesting thing has been watching other individuals defend our shoot and our idea of fun. The experience has been overwhelmingly positive and fun.”
This is just a couple of fans having fun and there’s nothing wrong with that.
