These Paper Polygon Masks Are Creepy, Cool, Amazing

ArtGear Halloween by Mily Dunbar

Halloween is a week away, which means the parties start tonight, and you need a costume. Only you procrastinated and your boss doesn’t recognize Halloween parties as a valid reason to leave work early, and the Halloween store is all the way across town, which means you have zero time to put something together. You can either race home and try to gather a costume out of found objects or do something lame like just wear regular clothes and a name tag. If only there were a third option…

There is, and it is brought to you by etsy user Steve Wintercroft. He sells instant downloads of templates you can use to create amazing polygon masks out of cardboard. It was his skull mask that first caught our eye, but he also sells templates for Jack-o-Lantern masks, werewolf masks, bird masks, and more. Need costumes for a group? Download the three little pigs and big bad wolf set. Want to freak everyone out? His polygon face mask is particularly disturbing.

From the product details:

This mask is simple to make and the construction techniques are the same as my other masks. basically, if you can cut out shapes, match up numbers and tape edges together, you can build the mask. It is as simple as that. It takes approximately two to three hours to build from printing the templates to finishing the mask. The finished masks are pretty robust due the their polygon construction and will survive the wildest of parties.

Basically, if you need a cheap and easy costume that you aren’t likely to see on 100 other people at a party, these seem like a pretty safe bet.

Thanks to Boing Boing for the heads up.
