These Photos Are Our Best Look Yet at The SHAZAM! Suit and You'll Either Love it or Hate It

Some new photos have surfaced from the set of Shazam! and these give us out best most detailed look yet at Zachary Levi's costume. Personally, I like what I'm seeing because that IS Shazam's costume! They really embraced the comic book suit design and used that as the main inspiration. I imagine this is what Shazam! would look like if he stepped right out of those comics.

There seems to be a good amount of fans that don't like the suit, but if you're a fan of the comic I honestly don't know how you can't, because, again, this IS Shazam's costume! At least, in almost every Shazam! comic book that I've read. Maybe people just don't like a buff Zachary Levi?

I just want to point out that these photos are taken without having any movie magic applied to them to give us the final onscreen look. I imagine it won't look too different, though. I'm surprised that Warner Bros. hasn't released an official photo yet! Check out the new photos below and tell us what you think. If you don't like the costume, what is it that you don't like about it?

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

Shazam! is being directed by David S. Sandberg and also stars Jack Dylan Grazer (IT) as Billy’s best friend and ultimate superhero enthusiast, Freddy, part of the foster family that includes Mary, played by Grace Fulton (Annabelle: Creation); Darla, played by Faithe Herman (This is Us); Eugene, played by Ian Chen (Fresh Off the Boat); and Pedro, played by Jovan Armand (TV’s Hawaii Five-O). Cooper Andrews of The Walking Dead and Marta Milans (Killer Women) play foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez, with Ron Cephas Jones (This is Us) as the Wizard.

Shazam! will be released on April 5, 2019.
