These Samurai Armor Inspired Hoodies Are the Coolest Things!
I’ve always loved the look of the medieval Samurai warriors. They were just so damn cool looking. They had a unique style that was unlike any other warrior in the world. In my opinion their style was better than any other medieval warriors. That traditional Japanese armor style is now in the process of becoming a wearable hoodie!
The hoodie comes from Tokyo Otaku Mode who created a few of them and did a soft launch in 2015 to see if people would be interested in buying them. The limited number of hoodies they created quickly sold out. Since they were a hit, they are no looking to mass produce them. They’ve launched an Indiegogo campaign to help make that happen. This is what they had to say about their hoodie:
It all started a few years ago when we stumbled upon an online article displaying a hoodie based on a Western suit of armor. “What a fantastic product,” we thought. “How come there isn’t one based on traditional Japanese armor?” We wanted one so badly that we searched all over the internet, but apparently such apparel did not exist in Japan.
"If it doesn't exist, why not bring it into existence?"
And so, 2 years ago, we titled our project "Samurai Armor Hoodie" and began developing.
For 2 years, we designed prototype after prototype, until finally, in the winter of 2015, it was completed and scheduled for release. The hoodies were released at 32,000 Yen in Japan, and before we knew it, they were completely sold out.
Now, with this campaign, we would like to bring a further improved version of these hoodies to fans around the world!
