Third Film in the KINGSMAN Franchise is Already Planned
If you loved the Kingsman: Secret Service and are looking forward to the second installment Kingsman: The Golden Circle then get very excited! It looks like we may be getting a Kingsman trilogy. Director Matthew Vaughn announced that he has been working on a third “Kingsman” film. Variety reports Vaughn made the announcement at a Fox premiere event in London today. He said while writing the script for The Golden Circle, he and co-writer Jane Goldman had already started mapping out movie number 3. Vaughn also described The Golden Circle as the "Empire Strikes Back" of the Kingsman films, hinting it will likely have a big cliffhanger and/or plot development before letting the third film resolve matters.
Vaughn also played the entire first act of The Golden Circle for those in attendance, which was received extremely well. He says he is still 10 to 12 weeks away from completing The Golden Circle. Vaugh says he allowed a lot of improvisation on set so it's been hard to cut because a lot of "good stuff" won't make the final cut. But he did say he might end up doing a longer cut of the film down the road.
The Kingsman: Secret Service was such a fun theatrical experience, and if The Golden Circle lives up to the same standard it is bound to be just as much fun. Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters in September.
