This Cool 80s Inspired Fantasy Adventure Short THE SPIRIT MACHINE Centers Around Thomas Edison's Last Invention
I've got a great 80s-inspired fantasy short film for you to watch today called The Spirit Machine. The film is said to be inspired by films such as Raiders of the Lost Ark and Poltergeist. I think it's a nice little mix of Indiana Jones and The Prestige.
The story follows a father and daughter who go on a journey to find Thomas Edison's last invention which is called The Spirit Machine. Here's the synopsis:
After discovering the final resting place of Thomas Edison's last invention, a desperate, out of touch father and his teenage daughter must work together to solve a series of traps built to prevent them from reaching a secret chamber.
I love how this short film turned out. It tells a fun and captivating story that has a really cool backstory and fantastically established mythology. It also has some decent special effects. The short was directed by Timothy Plain and I hope you enjoy it!
