This Cool Self-Extending "Sleeper" Lightsaber is Made Out of Cardboard

When I was a kid I used to wield a cardboard tube that I imagined was a lightsaber. Hell, I won’t lie… to this day when I get my hands on a cardboard tube I still play with it like it’s a lightsaber!

Well, Youtuber Joel Creates has taken cardboard lightsaber to a radical new level! He created a self-extending cardboard lightsaber that removes all of that imagination. He calls it a "sleeper" lightsaber because it looks like it’s just a paper towel tube!

While it just looks like cardboard, this thing has a complicated-looking contraption inside that Joel spent a lot of time creating and building. He used a combination of 3D-printed and metal parts to create the contraption that could be hidden inside a paper towel tube.

It also includes motion sensors and a soundboard triggering lightsaber effects played through a 40-millimeter headphone speaker as the saber was waved around. But, the coolest part is the hidden saber blade that automatically extends at the push of a button.
