This Dad Plays D&D With His Young Daughter and It is Amazing

Benjamin Jabe is a dad who loves Dungeons & Dragons and his children. At least, that’s the impression I got after watching the adorable video of him playing a very simplified version of the game with his 3.5-year-old daughter. He narrates the story and asks her what she wants to do. After she makes a decision, he has her roll the appropriate dice, but it appears he has decided to not worry about adding modifiers for the sake of simplicity. The whole video is just very wholesome and adorable. I’ve been wondering when the best time to start playing with my children is and it may be sooner than I originally thought.

I started playing very simplified game of Dungeons and Dragons with my 3.5 year old that had an emphasis on critical thinking, shapes, number recognition, and loss acceptance. I think Dungeons and Dragons can me an amazing tool to help aid children in development in a number of different ways.
