This Han Solo Jacket is Mostly Great with One Big Problem

The people over at Film Jackets have sent me a new jacket to check out. I was sent the Empire Strikes Back Han Solo Jacket and I’ve got some thoughts. First, this jacket fits very well and looks and feels just like you would expect it to based on the pictures. It’s made out of cotton with a viscose lining and a total of eight pockets. There are 5 external pockets and three internal ones, so there’s plenty of room for you to put things.

There’s one glaring problem with this jacket though. The way that it closes is with some hooks that sound like a good idea because then it, in theory, will not have a seam at the closure. In practice, it creates gaps and windows to your shirt when closed. You will probably never want to close this jacket because it looks bad and also would not be as effective as a jacket with a zipper.

If you can look past the closure system for the jacket, it’s actually pretty nice. If you want one, you can purchase it from Film Jackets for about $99.
