This is a Great Year to Go to Power Morphicon

Power Morphicon is the convention to go to if you’re a Power Rangers geek. This year, it will take place from August 17-19 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. There are two big things happening this year though that may be of special importance of fans. First, if you are a fan of Lord Drakkon and would like a copy of his throne for your Drakkon action figure, there will be an exclusive throne for this year’s con. Power Morphicon has announced that the throne will be handmade and hand painted with limited quantities available. If you are at the convention, you can pick one up for $65. If you are not able to attend, you’ll possibly be able to get one for $80, and if you’re international, you can look forward to picking one up for $100. They look pretty awesome, so if you’re a collector, this is surely a must-have.

If you’re not into action figures and just want to meet your favorite Power Ranger, this year will have a special guest. Austin St. John, the man who played the original Red Ranger and later the Gold Zeo Ranger, will be making an appearance. This is the first time in a while that St. John and Jason David Frank have been at the same convention. BboyRealm, Power Morphicon's Guest Relations coordinator, has released a slew of tweets clarifying some details. They will also continue to release details next week to further clarify things, but as it stands, you may need to adjust your plans if you want to meet St. John. He will only be available on August 16, that Thursday, due to scheduling conflicts.

This puts him on Day 0 of the convention or the day where everyone sets up their booths and many people travel to their hotels and such in preparation of the con. Nothing is confirmed, buy Bboy has said that as of right now there will not be a cover charge to meet St. John, but there will be one if you want his autograph or a picture. He’s also said there’s a chance St. John will be housed in the main lobby while the booths are being set up inside the convention hall. You can find a full list of guests, registration pricing, and the registration page all on the official site. Hurry though if you want to attend as online registration ends July 9.
