THIS IS US Actor Ron Cephas Jones Cast in SHAZAM! as The Wizard
Actor Ron Cephas Jones, who you might recognize from This is Us, Mr. Robot and Luke Cage has joined the cast of director David F. Sandberg's upcoming DC film Shazam! According to The Wrap, he will take on the role of The Wizard, which is a perfect character for him to play!
The Wizard is the mysterious figure who "bestows all the powers on a teenage Billy Batson (Asher Angel) so that he can magically transform into a fully adult-size superhero (Zachary Levi)."
In the comics, The Wizard is an ancient being and the last surviving member of a council of wizards who must find a champion to battle the evil Black Adam.
The movie also stars Mark Strong, who is set to play the villain, Doctor Sivana. Some of the other cast members include Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen and Jovan Armand. They will play Billy’s friends that live in a group home with him.
Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
