This READY PLAYER ONE Extended Spot is Loaded with New Footage and a Fun Superman Reference
An extended promo for Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One has been released and this thing is loaded with all kinds of new footage! There's more footage of King Kong, who is actually a little girl; a Lord of the Rings troll all decked out in armor; the Iron Giant; a fun Clark Kent Superman reference; and a lot of cool action. I was actually surprised by how much new footage was packed into this 60-second spot, and I'm sure the fans will love it!
The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality- bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
Ready Player One also stars Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg, T.J. Miller, Hannah John-Kamen and Ben Mendelsohn. It will be released in theaters on March 29th.
