Thomas Jane Set to Star in Stephen King’s 1922 Supernatural Murder Thriller
Thomas Jane and Molly Parker are set to star in Netflix’s film adaptation of Stephen King’s novella 1922. This will be the third Stephen King film that Jane has starred in. He previously starred in 2003’s Dreamcatcher and 2007’s The Mist. I’m a big fan of the actor, who I think is underrated. It’s great to see him attached to star in another King project.
The story follows a man who confesses to his wife's murder. “The tale is told from from the perspective of Wilfred James, the story's unreliable narrator who admits to killing his wife, Arlette, with his son in Nebraska. But after he buries her body, he finds himself terrorized by rats and, as his life begins to unravel, becomes convinced his wife is haunting him.”
Jane is playing Wilfred James and Parker is taking on the role of Arlette. They will be joined by Dylan Schmid, Kaitlyn Bernard, Brian D’Arcy James, and Neal McDonough.
The film is currently in production in Vancouver, and it’s being directed by Zak Hiditch from a script he wrote. This is one of the few King stories that I haven’t read, and I might have to do that before for the movie comes out!
1922 is the second King property that Netflix is adapting. They’re also currently developing Gerald's Game. So I’ve got two Stephen King films to look forward to watching on Netflix!
