We saw Chris Hemsworth's Thor go through some huge changes in Thor: Ragnarok. Not only was his hammer destroyed, his hair was chopped off, he found out he had an evil sister, he learned to harness the epic power within' him, he became king of Asgard and he also lost an eye! Those are all major life-altering changes! Well, the big changes aren't stopping there.
During a recent Q&A with Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo, Thor is going to go through yet another "radical transformation" that can't be taken back. The director's tease:
"I think it’s very similar to Captain America’s situation when we picked up his story in Winter Solider when Joe and I came on to do our first movie for Marvel. Cap was in a place where we were very much catching him up in the modern world and seeing what that meant to him, and figuring out how you move a character that far forward and that far away from where they started back during the 40s, so I think in Thor we have similar opportunities with that character in this movie is that he’s going through a radical transformation and he’s moving forward in a way where he can never go back, and that’s always a fun place to be with a character as a storyteller."
It's going to be cool and interesting to see what exactly they end up doing with the character. We know that he will join up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and that's sure to lead him on a wild and crazy journey to try and stop Thanos from gathering all the Infinity Stones. This adventure obviously isn't going to be a cake-walk for him.
What do you think this "radical transformation" that the directors tease could be?
