THOR: RAGNAROK Explodes at the Box Office With Over $427 Million Worldwide!
Marvel Studios‘ Thor: Ragnarok was struck by lightning at the box office this weekend and blew it up! The movie brought in $121 million domestically this weekend making it the 17th consecutive number one MCU film out of 17 films and its 8th $100 million-plus opening. It's also the fourth biggest opening of 2017. Combined with the international box office numbers of $306 million Thor: Ragnarok‘s global total currently stands tall at over $427 million.
I wasn't really sure how this movie would do and how fans would react to it because it's so different from any of the other Marvel films that have been made. Obviously, they loved it! But, there are some concerns among fans. When talking about the film with some Marvel fans, some of them are concerned that now that Thor: Ragnarok is a success both critically and at the Box office, that Marvel will start making more and more Marvel films more silly and comedic.
Personally, I think Marvel is smarter than that and they will continue to deliver a wide range of different styles for their movies. I seriously doubt that the future films will be carbon copies of Thor: Ragnarok. Each film has a different director that brings a different kind of style to the movie. One other thing we also know is that there will always be the right amount of humor injected into the stories they tell.
What they did with Thor: Ragnarok, though, completely worked for it! Yeah, it wasn't a perfect movie, but it certainly was hilariously entertaining and the fans loved it.
