Three Original Cast Members From LIZZIE MCGUIRE Have Been Verified to Return for the Revival

Any good reboot knows that in order to have a successful second run, the most important ingredient is that the beloved cast return to reprise their roles. Fuller House did it, The Connors did it (after removing the star, but that’s a special circumstance), Will & Grace did it, and Punky Brewster is about to do it. And while we already knew that Hilary Duff would be back in the title role of Lizzie McGuire, now we have official word that Lizzie’s family is back as well!

Hallie Todd, who played Lizzie’s mom, Jo, Robert Carradine, as Lizzie’s dad, Sam, and Jake Thomas, Lizzie’s brother, Matt, will reprise their roles in the upcoming reboot. Original Lizzie McGuire series creator Terri Minsky will be returning as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Duff and Rachel Winter.

The series is described as:

The story follows a soon-to-be 30-year-old Lizzie McGuire navigating adulthood in Brooklyn with help from her animated 13-year-old alter ego.

Sounds about the way you’d expect it. I think this has the potential to be a fun series, and could be especially successful after Disney+ comes out and lets new and old fans become familiar with the original Lizzie McGuire series for the first time, or again.

Are you excited for the new series with the old cast?
