Thrilling Trailer for Netflix's True Crime Mystery Doc TRUST NO ONE: THE HUNT FOR THE CRYPTO KING
I’ve got a trailer here for an interesting new true crime mystery documentary from Netflix titled Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King. This doc dives into the fascinating story of the suspicious death of cryptocurrency multimillionaire Gerald Cotten and $250 million of investor money that went missing after his death.
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
There's only one rule in the world of crypto and bitcoin, trust no one. $250 million of bitcoin randomly disappears from QuadrigaCX, once Canada's largest crypto exchange, and the only person who can get it back mysteriously dies. Greed is a matter of life and death in this true crime documentary about the rise and fall of QuadrigaCX, the mysterious death of its founder Gerry Cotton, and the victims left behind to pick up the pieces.
Cotten died of Crohn's disease in 2019, and the $250 million of digital currency was locked out and could not be accessed by customers and investors. Cotten's wife Jennifer Robertson said that the only person who knew the password for QuadrigaCX's offline crypto accounts was Cotten himself.
The trailer features the investors who are investigating the matter, and they offer theories regarding what might have actually happened. This is a pretty wild story!
Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King will be available on Netflix on March 30, 2022.
