THUNDERBOLTS* Actress Geraldine Viswanathan Talks About Working With Julia Louis-Dreyfus and What She Learned From Her

Thunderbolts* actress Geraldine Viswanathan debuted the character Mel, assistant to Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) in the film, and if the rumors are true, she will return to likely play the superhero Songbird. Mel is an interesting, layered character, who many fans are shipping with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), as they had moments of clear chemistry in the movie.

While this was Viswanathan’s debut in the MCU, she learned a lot from the film, especially her closest co-star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She talked about working alongside her in a recent interview with Coming Soon, where she was asked if there were any lessons that she took away from getting to see her work so closely. Viswanathan responded:

“Yeah, she gives it 110% and really is so sharp in like her precision with her language and words and kind of the details of a scene in a way that I found really inspiring. And yeah, that’s why I think she’s such a master. Like, she doesn’t rest on her laurels or kind of glaze over anything. Like she’s really detail-oriented and just really smart. It was really cool to watch, and I feel like her sort of endless dedication was very like something that I will kind of take on with me for sure.”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has proven herself in both comedy and drama, and it would be like a masterclass to work alongside her. I look forward to seeing what happens with the Thunderbolts, aka The New Avengers, in their future battles and adventures.

Thunderbolts* is now available to own on DVD and Blu-Ray, and is also available to stream on Disney+.
