Tim Allen and Tom Hanks Officially Returning to Play Buzz and Woody in TOY STORY 5

At the beginning of the year, Disney announced that they were reviving the Toy Story franchise with Toy Story 5. It was assumed by fans that the main players from the previous films would be returning, but now we know that at least Tim Allen and Tom Hanks will be returning to voice Buzz Lightyear and Woody, respectively.

In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Allen confirmed Disney's approached the duo to reprise their iconic roles. He said:

"Bob Iger, head of Disney, said it was on. He actually said that it was going to happen. They have reached out to Tom and I to reprise the roles. They're not saying anything about it. You wonder if four was too many. Is five going to be too much? According to the scuttlebutt, the writer that's doing it wrote one of the better ones and he said, 'If I didn't get this right, I wouldn't do it.' So, it could be a very, very interesting way to reunite it."

I feel the same way. Disney is only going to move forward with another film in this beloved franchise if they have the perfect story in mind. Allen previously stated that he had a great idea for the next film, going the route of Andy as an adult looking to find his old toys to share with his kids. That would be a great idea, but we will just have to wait and see how it all pans out.
