Tim Blake Nelson Addressess Marvel Movie Criticisms - "It's Keeping Cinema Alive"

Captain America: Brave New World will see the return of Tim Blake Nelson in the role of The Leader. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen this character and it will be interesting to see what he’s been up to all these years.

Now that Nelson finds himself back in the MCU, he’s getting asked all those Marvel questions that Marvel actors are asked. One of those questions is what he thinks about the criticisms regarding Marvel.

During an interview with The Wrap at San Diego Comic-Con the actor responded to that question, saying: "Marvel has become this phenomenon that's unprecedented in the history of cinema.

“These scores of movies with characters moving in and out of one another's storylines, coming together, going back apart, fighting against one another in a single universe: it's never happened before in movies.

“When people attack these movies as, 'Well, it's not real cinema' or, 'It's the death of cinema,' I actually think it's keeping cinema alive, and I really mean that."

Over the past few years, we’ve definitely seen superhero fatigue due to all the mediocre and bad films being made. Then there are directors like Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, and Quentin Tarantino who have commented on the superhero genre.

When previously talking about superhero movie fatigue, Anthony Russo said: "I think it’s fatigue in general. The superhero fatigue question was around long before the work we were doing.

“So, it's sort of an eternal complaint, like we always used to cite this back in our early days with superhero work. People used to complain about westerns in the same way but they lasted for decades and decades and decades. They were continually reinvented and brought to new heights as they went on."

Regardless of any of this, Deadpool & Wolverine has exploded at the box office and the fans are loving the film! This is a movie fans always wanted to see and it delivers hilarious and bloody action-packed entertainment.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens when the next Marvel movies are released. I think Marvel will find itself in an upward trend again because they’ve got some exciting projects coming.
