Tim Burton To Direct Reimagining of ATTACK OF THE FIFTY FOOT WOMAN
Tim Burton has found his next film project with a reimagining of the classic 1958 movie Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman. Gone Girl scribe and Sharp Objects Emmy nominee Gillian Flynn is writing the script for the movie.
This seems like it will be a fun and great project for Burton to take on! The movie centers on a wealthy woman who encounters an alien spacecraft and is exposed to a mysterious substance. After this encounter, Nancy begins to grow uncontrollably, reaching a towering fifty feet in height.
Her transformation causes chaos and panic in her small town as she seeks revenge against those who have wronged her. The movie is filled with campy special effects and is an amusing sci-fi B-movie. The movie also offered social commentary on gender roles and power dynamics.
It’ll be interesting to see what Burton ends up doing with this film project. I have no doubt it will deliver some enjoyable entertainment.
