Tim Burton's ADDAMS FAMILY Spinoff Series WEDNESDAY Gets a Fall Release at Netflix

The Addams Family spinoff series Wednesday, which stars Jenna Ortega in the title role, will be released this Fall. The live-action series will follow the Addams’ only daughter through her years as a student, “when she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents.”

The dark comedy/family horror series is being created by none other than Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas), and this seems right up his alley. He is being accompanied by partner Danny Elfman, who has scored most of the projects in Burton’s career, as composer of the series.

Ortega is joined in the cast by Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Riki Lindhome as Dr. Valerie Kinbott, Jamie McShane (Sons of Anarchy) as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, Wednesday’s younger brother. Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones) will also appear as a main cast member known as Larissa Weems, and Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in the ‘90s Addams Family films will be appearing in the series as well.
