Tim Roth Calls Tatiana Maslany's Performance in Disney+ Marvel Series SHE-HULK "Jaw-Dropping"
Fans are looking forward to the She-Hulk series that is headed to Disney+ later this year. This show stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, a.k.a. She-Hulk. She is a lawyer and cousin of Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), “who inherits his Hulk powers after she receives a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Bruce, however, when she hulks out Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality, intelligence, and emotional control.”
The series also stars Renée Elise Goldsberry and Ginger Gonzaga. Jameela Jamil will star in the role of Titania, “a Marvel supervillain with incredible strength and a frequent rival of She-Hulk.” And Tim Roth will be returning to the role of Abomination/Emil Blonsky from the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk.
We haven’t seen any footage yet from the upcoming series, but Roth assures fans that Maslany is going to deliver an incredible performance. In a recent interview with ET Canada (via CB), Roth described Maslany’s work on the series as "jaw-dropping," and teased the improv that we will get to see between himself, Maslany, and Mark Ruffalo.
Roth said:
"She's amazing. It's actually jaw-dropping. Yeah, you know what, just watching it just on a day-to-day level, and sometimes a dialogue lands, just on that level, and her ability to absorb and then perform was quite remarkable. And she's funny. One of the signs of a good actor is their comedic touch and she has it."
He went on to add:
"[Maslany and Ruffalo] together were very funny, and we could improvise, depending on who we were working with on any particular day. Some of the directors that we worked with were up for improv, and that was funny, the idea of improvising with those characters in that situation. It was unusual, to say the least."
That sounds like a fun environment for making a series. It’s pretty cool when a director can see that their actors are comfortable in their characters, and can just let them move within the scene as it feels right. I can’t wait to see what happens in this series. She-Hulk is set to hit Disney+ sometime later this year.
