Time for the Dark World to Return with New YU-GI-OH! Deck STRUCTURE DECK: DARK WORLD
Update: Konami decided to change the artwork for the box which can be seen at the bottom of the page.
Konami recently announced a new structure deck for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG called Structure Deck: Dark World. As the name implies, the main strategy will revolve around the fan-favorite Dark World archetype. These cards typically have effects revolving around being discarded from your hand and it can be really fun even if the cards haven’t always been the best. In Dark World, duelists will find Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World returning alongside a new version of Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World with both having been retrained with new abilities.
Reign-Beaux’s new form is a Level 8 monster with 3000 ATK with the ability to Special Summon from the Graveyard (or GY as kids say these days) itself by returning a Level 7 or lower Dark World monster to your hand from the field. That seems pretty decent. In addition, if Reign-Beaux is discarded you can search your Deck for any Dark World monster that is at least Level 5 and add it to your hand. We’re teased that more happens if your opponent is the one to cause the discard effect. My guess is that it Special Summons the monster instead.
Meanwhile, Grapha’s new form is a Fusion Monster that uses Grapha as material alongside any other DARK monster. Good thing there’s no shortage of those. You’ll be able to Summon this new monster using a new Spell Card that allows you to discard for the Fusion Summon to give you the effects of your Dark Worlds. Nice synergy there. While you have the new Grapha Fusion, you’ll be able to “hijack an opponent’s Normal Spell/Trap Card or monster effect, turning it into a discard effect that unleashes your “Dark World” monsters’ true power!”
Dark World is set to release on December 2 and will contain the following:
Five Ultra Rare Cards
Three Super Rare Cards
37 Common Cards
One double-sided Deluxe Game Mat/Dueling Guide
