Time to Save Space as an Ensign with STARCREW TTRPG
Dice Doctor Games recently released a tabletop RPG called StarCrew. This is a sci-fi RPG with inspiration from various beloved sci-fi franchises with one in particular really standing out. The idea behind StarCrew is that through a crazy turn of events, the captain and officers on your ship are all dead leaving the Ensigns (the players) in charge. It sounds goofy and silly and I love it. It sounds like a fun time for fans looking for lighthearted sci-fi fun.
Called to adventure among the stars, you became the Star-Crew of a Federation ship to become explorers, nay, heroes of space. You and your crew are some of the first to pierce the Dark, the galaxy’s last frontier, where space holds as many wonders as dangers. Your captain and bridge crew just learned this lesson. They died. And by virtue of a relaxing on-shift nap, you Ensigns are the only survivors. Via Federation rules you are now in charge to complete the mission. Oh, if you can get one better on the Ketz, that'd be the bomb. Just don't start a war!
You can purchase the rules for StarCrew (affiliate link) for $4.98 and the starter scenario, Explosive Contact (affiliate link) for $4.98 through DriveThruRPG.
The galaxy is divided between the Federation and Ketz Empire. Both are probing the Dark, a frontier of wild unexplored planets, to find new Kyberium needed for hyper-travel. You are Ensigns on a small Federation Deep Space Vessel. Your mission? Explore the Dark, find Kyberium, discover new civilizations, like the Borr, and help them join the Federation. There's a problem.
The Borr “obtained” an attractive amount of red Kyberium to speed along their acceptance into the Federation, for fear of Ketz annexation. They didn’t know the Kyberium was highly unstable. Now, your brave captain and bridge crew go to broker the deal on the Borr cruiser with the Kyberium, only for it to explode, killing all. You got to step up and clean up, but please, don't start a war!
