Timothée Chalamet Rumored to Play Harry Osborn in SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY

The rumor train for Spider-Man: Brand New Day just picked up serious speed, and it comes after the trailer dropped earlier this week, The latest report suggests Timothée Chalamet could be stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, potentially taking on one of Spider-Man’s most important characters.

If the rumor proves true, Chalamet wouldn’t just be joining another blockbuster franchise. He’d be entering the complicated world of Peter Parker’s closest friend and future enemy.

The speculation started after insider MyTimeToShineHello posted on X: “Spider-Man Brand New Day trailer is coming sooner than we think and Chalamet could be Harry in the next Spidey movie.”

That would be pretty wild if it turns out to be true.

Harry Osborn is one of the most layered characters in Spider-Man mythology. He begins as Peter Parker’s close friend but lives under the shadow of his father, Norman Osborn, the infamous Green Goblin.

In the comics that relationship spirals into tragedy as Harry struggles with his father’s legacy and his own inner turmoil, eventually taking up the Goblin mantle himself.

It’s a role that has already produced memorable live-action versions. James Franco portrayed Harry in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, while Dane DeHaan played the character in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Each interpretation leaned into the complicated friendship with Peter and the darker path Harry eventually walks.

Maybe Spider-Man: Brand New Day plans to explore Peter’s relationship with the character again. That side of Spider-Man’s story has always been an important aspect of the character. Chalamet is an interesting choice for the role, but we’ll just have to wait and see if its true or not.

Sony Pictures hasn’t revealed much officially about the film since production kicked off in Scotland last summer. Even so, set leaks and online chatter have kept the project in the spotlight.

What do you think about the possibility of Chalamet playing Harry Osborn in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
