Timothy Olyphant Says It's Hard to Get Everyone Together For The DEADWOOD Movie
The last thing we heard about the Deadwood movie was that HBO was hoping to start shooting it in Fall. In a recent interview with Deadline, Deadwood star Timothy Olyphant explains that the most challenging aspect of getting the film into production is getting the full cast back together,
"It’s very hard to get people together for a barbecue that lasts an afternoon, let alone to get everyone together for a production that lasts a month or two."
HBO president Casey Bloys echos that statement in a previous interview, saying:
“David Milch is doing a rewrite that he and the producers were talking about. If they can get all the actors together, which they’re trying to do — and everybody wants to do it — if they can get everybody back together, we’re looking at fall 2018 to shoot something. But a lot of things have to fall into place for that to happen. But I’m optimistic.”
If everyone wants to do it, then I'm sure they will all do whatever they can to find the time. I understand that they are all busy doing other things, but if they could actually pull this off, the fans of the series would be so happy. I've always wanted to see a proper ending to this series, and we are so close to getting it!
The story focused on the rivalry between Sheriff Seth Bullock (Olyphant) and the villainous pimp Al Swearengen (Ian McShane) and also starred Molly Parker as Alma Garet, and Brad Dourif as Doc Cochran.
Do you think this Deadwood movie will actually happen?
