TINY TOONS ADVENTURES Reboot Series Coming to HBO Max

After it was announced that Animanics was getting a series reboot, a lot of fans wondered if a reboot of Tiny Toons Adventures would follow. Well, the news has just dropped that HBO Max and Cartoon Network are set to produce the series reboot!

The new show is titled Tiny Toons Loonversity, and it will feature characters from the original series, which aired from 1990-1992. The half-hour animated show has received a two-season order, with Steven Spielberg attached to return as an executive producer.

Tiny Toons Loonversity follows the “characters’ comedic ambitions all the way to Acme Looniversity, the esteemed institution of higher high-jinks learning, where young dreamers become professional toons. Here they form long-lasting friendships with one another and perfect their cartoony craft while studying under the greatest cartoon characters in history, the Looney Tunes.”

Erin Gibson will serve as showrunner and co-executive producer, while Nate Cash will also co-executive produce. Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, will also executive produce along with Amblin Television co-presidents Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.

The characters from the original series include Buster Bunny, Babs Bunny, Fifi La Fume, Elmyra Duff, Plucky Duck, Dizzy Devil, Hamilton J. Pig, Montana Max, Shirley the Loon, and more.

Tom Ascheim, President of Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics, who also oversees kids programming at HBO Max said in a statement:

Tiny Toons Looniversity will capture all the clever, subversive and smart humor that made Tiny Toon Adventures such a standout series,” said “Fans old and new will love to laugh at and with these characters all over again.”

Amblin’s Falvey and Frank added:

“These smart, hilarious and cheeky characters have left an indelible impression on the childhoods of so many. We’re thrilled to be able to continue our relationship with Warner Bros. Animation, HBO Max and Cartoon Network to reimagine the Tiny Toons for new audiences, and we know that fans of the original series will be just as excited to share the show with their children as they will be to revisit a childhood favorite.”

Are you excited to learn that Tiny Toons is making a comeback!?
