Tips Are Already Rolling in for Cases Covered in New UNSOLVED MYSTERIES
The new Unsolved Mysteries premiered on Netflix on July 1st, and fans binged right through the first six episodes in no time. Not only was it widely viewed, but people got right to work on trying to solve the cases covered so far in the series. In a recent report from USA Today, we learned that as soon as one day after the series premiered, tips on the unsolved crimes starting pouring in.
Executive producer and series co-creator, Terry Dunn Meurer, said, “More than 260 mysteries from the original were ultimately resolved with the help of tips and other factors, such as increasingly sophisticated DNA testing.” Dunn Meurer went on to explain that when the tips seem credible, they “pass them on to the appropriate authorities. It's only been 24 hours. We're hoping there's a lot of people who still haven't watched and maybe this weekend they'll sit down and binge the episodes and we'll get more leads.”
The most credible leads they have passed on to the FBI include “three tips related to the death of Alonzo Brooks, whose body was found a month after he disappeared following a party in rural Kansas in 2004. Tips also came in relating to the cause of death of Rey Rivera, whom Baltimore police said died of suicide, and the disappearance of Lena Chapin, who was supposed to testify against her mother in her stepfather's death.”
We binged the available episodes this past weekend as well. They did a great job of reinventing the series, and covering the stories in a captivating way. I hope they do get leads to solve the cases they cover, and continue to make more episodes. It was always awesome to watch the old episodes and hear the updates about how they were solved with the help of the viewers.
Which case are you hoping to get an update on first?
