TNT's SNOWPIERCER Series Is Set to Premiere Two Weeks Early
Those of you who have been looking forward to watching TNT’s Snowpiercer series will be happy to hear that the premiere of the series has been moved up two weeks! It was originally supposed to premiere on May 31st, and it will now air on May 17th at 9pm ET/PT.
The series is based on the 1982 French graphic novel Le Transperceneige, and the 2014 film adaptation from director Bong Joon-ho. The story is set “more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a 1001 car, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the acclaimed movie and graphic novel series of the same name.”
Brett Weitz, general manager for TNT, TBS and truTV said in a statement:
“’Snowpiercer’ is one of the most anticipated original series of 2020 and in this climate, viewers are craving thrilling, engaging, edge-of-your-seat content that speaks to them on a deeper level. It is extremely important that we continue with our promise to meet audiences where they are, and to that effect, we are moving up ‘Snowpiercer’s’ premiere so that fans can enjoy this futuristic series even earlier.”
The series has an impressive cast that includes Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright, Sean Bean, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, Jaylin Fletcher, and Rowan Blanchard.
Some networks have been making changes to their programming schedules in recent weeks due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. While a lot of dates are being pushed back, this one is getting pushed forward. You won’t hear any complaints from me! This is a show I’ve been excited about watching!
