Tobin Bell Returns to Play Jigsaw in a New Film in the SAW Franchise
Tobin Bell is returning to play Jigsaw in a new Saw movie that’s currently in development! This will be the tenth Saw film, and like almost every horror film franchise, villains that have been killed off in previous films never really die.
Bell’s character Kramer was killed in Saw III, but he’s continued to appear in the sequels through flashbacks. There are no details on the story for this next film, but Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures tease that “the return of Bell to the franchise furthers [our] goal of a film that captures everything Saw fans love about the franchise, while also keeping them guessing with all-new traps and a new mystery to solve.”
The film is produced by Mark Burg and Oren Koules, and they said in a statement: “What a thrill to be reuniting with Tobin. His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this film.”
The movie will be directed by Kevin Greutert. He previously helmed Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, and edited Saw I through V and Jigsaw.
The Saw franchise was created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell and it’s just one of those horror film franchises that will live on forever.
The new Saw movie will be released in theaters on October 27th, 2023.
