Tom Cruise is Channeling Maverick in Flight Scenes For MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART 2
Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie are currently shooting Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 2 and it looks like Cruise will be channeling Maverick in the film. Cruise has impressively pulled off some pretty awesome stunts in these Mission: Impossible movies and in the next one, the big stunt involves Cruise riding a motorcycle off a cliff into a base jump. It’s said to be the biggest stunt in movie history.
Now Cruise is once again going to take to the skies for some flight stunts for Dead Reckoning Part 2. Variety reports that Cruise and McQuarrie have been filming on a US aircraft carrier in the Adriatic Sea. Cruise flew into the Italian port city of Bari on a helicopter before jetting off on what seems to be the USS George H.W. Bush, which is a supercarrier from the United States Navy.
That carrier is now “somewhere between Italy and Croatia” where Cruise is shooting the film. With the popularity of Top Gun: Maverick, it seems like they wanted to bring some of that to the Mission: Impossible franchise. There are no details in regards to what the scenes will entail or what kind of stunt Cruise will be pulling off, but It’ll be cool to see what this is going to turn out to be!
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Parts 1 & 2 are directed by McQuarrie and they also star Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny along with newcomers Shea Whigham (Joker), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War) and Esai Morales (La Bamba, Titans), Charles Parnell, Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Mark Gatiss, and Cary Elwes (Saw). Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds, Albert Nobbs), and Holt McCallany (Mindhunter, Nightmare Alley).
