Tom Cruise is Rumored to Be Up For The Role of Hal Jordan in GREEN LANTERN CORPS

Could Tom Cruise end up playing Hal Jordan in DC's Green Lantern Corps? Well, according to a new rumor, the Warner Bros. want the actor for the role! But, there's one condition he is said to have before he does it.

According to Heroic Hollywood, "the current script calls for Hal Jordan to die which Cruise is against. The actor is asking for this part of the script to be changed before he takes the gig."

That's right. Tom Cruise wants Hal Jordan to live if he takes the role. Obviously, he'd like the option of coming back to the role if any sequels that are made.

This wouldn't be the first time that Cruise's name has been attached to the role. Back in 2017, he was included on a shortlist of other actors that included Tom Cruise, Joel McHale, Bradley Cooper, Armie Hammer, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

It looks like maybe the studio has zoned in Cruise. It makes sense if they are. After all, his latest film Mission: Impossible - Fallout was a huge hit. Now, I'm a big fan of Tom Cruise, but it's hard to imagine him in the role of Hal Jordan. He wouldn't be my first choice to take the part. But, if they do end up casting him, obviously it'll be interesting to see what his vision of the character is.

Green Lantern Corps is currently being written by Geoff Johns and as far as the plot goes, all we know is that it will focus on Hal Jordan and John Stewart, which is what I think most fans expected.

Green Lantern Corps is one of a ton of DC projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. along with The Batman, The Flash, The New Gods, Man of Steel 2, Nightwing, Gotham City Sirens, Birds of Prey, Black Adam, Booster Gold, Justice League Dark, Suicide Squad 2, Batgirl, Blackhawk, and two Joker films.

What do you all think about the possibility of Tom Cruise playing Hal Jordan?
