Tom Cruise Told His THE MUMMY Co-Star That No One Was Allowed To Run Next To Him in His Movies
You gotta love Tom Cruise. The guy enjoys running in his movies! He’s always running, and on top of doing his own crazy-ass stunts, he’s also known for how much he runs on screen. He runs so much that it’s become a joke among fans.
Well, during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, The Mummy co-star Annabelle Wallis offers a bit more insight into Cruise and his running. The actor is well aware that he runs a lot in his movies and at one point, Cruise told her that no one is allowed to run on screen with him. But, she actually managed to break that and proved that she had what it takes to run alongside him.
"He’s on a different level, and, you know, I ticked a box. I got to run on-screen with him, but he told me no at first. He said, 'Nobody runs on-screen [with me],' and I said, 'But I’m a really good runner.'"
She went on to say how she managed to get to run with him on screen, something that she was incredibly proud of:
"So, I would time my treadmill so that he’d walk in and see me run. And then he added all these running scenes. So, that was it. It was, like, better than an Oscar. I was so happy! (Laughs.) I was so happy that I got to run on-screen with Tom Cruise. But I don’t think it ever goes away and I hope it never does."
Too bad that the movie she got to run with Cruise in ended up being a critical and commercial flop. But hey, she got to run alongside Tom Cruise!
