Tom Hanks and Robert Zemeckis Reteaming for a Film Adaptation of the Graphic Novel HERE
The creative talent behind Forrest Gump – actor Tom Hanks, director Robert Zemeckis, and writer Eric Roth – are teaming back up for a new film project. They are coming together to develop a feature film adaptation of the graphic novel Here.
This is said to be a huge film project “with a lot of heart.” The story centers on one room “and focuses on the many people who inhabit it over years and years, from the past to the distant future.”
The story was created by Richard McGuire and published in 2014. Here’s the description of the graphic novel:
Built in six pages of interlocking panels, dated by year, it collapsed time and space to tell the story of the corner of a room - and its inhabitants - between the years 500,957,406,073 BC and 2313 AD.
I’m not familiar with Here, but it definitely sounds like an interesting story, and Hanks, Zemeckis, and Roth are the perfect choice of talent to bring this story to life. I imagine they will find a cool and crazy way to visualize this story that will be unlike anything we’ve seen before.
The film will be produced by Playtone and ImageMovers.
