Tom Hanks Set To Star in a New Sci-Fi Film BIOS From GAME OF THRONES Director

Tom Hanks is one of my all-time favorite actors and I'm excited to report that he's set to star in a new sci-fi film project called Bios. The film will be helmed by Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik.

According to Variety, the story follows "a robot that lives on a post-apocalyptic earth. Built to protect the life of his dying creator’s beloved dog, it learns about love, friendship, and the meaning of human life. Hanks will play the ailing creator."

It sounds like a solid concept that will make for a wonderful film. I'm sure you can recognize that it uses elements from several other sci-fi films and stories that have come before.

Like many of you, I'm a big fan of the sci-fi genre and it's a genre that Tom Hanks isn't involved with very often, but this seems like a perfect film project for him to be a part of and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of it.

The film will start shooting in 2018. Hanks can be seen next in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film The Post. He plays former Washington Post editor-in-chief Ben Bradlee.
