Tom Hardy and VENOM 3 Director Say They'd Love to Make an R-Rated LOGAN-Style Venom Movie
Venom: The Last Dance was released this past weekend to meh reviews, as usual. The franchise is pretty silly, but fun enough for the fans who’ve hung in there.
This has been hailed as the swan song of the trilogy, though the possibility of seeing Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock return in other projects has been widely speculated and anticipated.
Hardy isn’t exactly ready to leave the character behind, and if he and writer/director Kelly Marcel had it their way, they’d be making an R-rated Logan-style Venom movie in the near future.
During a recent interview with The Wrap, the pair were asked about the possibility, and Hardy excitedly responded, “Oh yeah!,“ with Marcel jumping in, adding, “We’re desperate to do that! Desperate!”
Hardy went on to add, “We’ve already got that. We envisioned that on Venom 2. We’re already there. We’re quick as well. It’s like we’ve got four or five movies already on the side, in different tones, with multiple characters.
“If you ask us to do something. We’re not shy, but we have to edit down to what the mission statement is. We’re both busy heads. If we say we’re going to do something, we mean it.”
I don’t know if anyone is clamoring for this to happen, but an R-rated Venom probably would be better than the movies we’ve gotten. What do you think? Would you like to see a new take on the character?
