Tom Hiddleston Confirms AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Will Not Undo the Storyline Established In LOKI Season 2
There was once a completely different trajectory for the next set of Avengers movies. The plan was to see Kang the Conqueror be the big bad villain across the multiversal battle that has now pivoted to Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. The former storyline was being set up in the series Loki, and when Kang actor Jonathan Majors was fired for abuse allegations, some wondered if the whole story would be scrapped or if there was a way to work around it.
MCU’s Loki, Tom Hiddleston, touched on the path forward going into Doomsday in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where the actor was promoting his new National Geographic series Pompeii: Out of Time. Hiddleston explained, “Loki felt like a closure. And when Marvel called about Avengers: Doomsday, it was going to be starting from that end point. So there was no sense of unstitching or undoing all of that development. That development still stands as a place to begin.”
I am looking forward to see the universe of Avengers back together again, and to find out how the story has changed.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18, 2026.
