Tom Hiddleston Talks About LOKI Season 2 and Continuing The Character's Redemptive Story Arc
I know we’ve got awhile before we see Marvel develop and release Loki Season 2, but series star Tom Hiddleston talked about what he’d like to see from the series as it continues. One of the main things he’d like to continue to explore is Loki’s redemptive story arc.
While talking with Variety, Tom Hiddleston said:
“I understand the audience sees good in Loki — they want him to get past his internal and external obstacles. They want him to repair that relationship with his brother and step into the hero that he can be.
“He realizes, ‘Actually, I can choose my path and choose to do the right thing. Or I choose, at least, not to repeat the same old tricks that I repeated over and over in a cycle of trust and betrayal. It’s exciting to retain all the characteristics that makes Loki, Loki, and at the same time to play slightly different music within him.”
I really do love this Loki character and it was a ton of fun to see him get his own solo adventure with this series, and it was crazy to see where it led him! Things are going to get absolutely insane with it, and we still have yet to see the ramifications of how that story played out in the MCU. While things have been teased, there’s been no direct connection to the events in Loki, so it’s going to be pretty wild when things do connect.
Regardless of all that, I’m also excited to see Loki’s growth as we continue to follow him in the MCU.
