Tom Holland Says There Are Some "Very Violent" Fight Scenes in SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME
It sounds like Spider-Man: No Way Home is going to be a pretty intense Marvel movie. In fact, Tom Holland says that some of the fight scenes we’ll see in the movie are “very violent.” Here’s what he said in a recent interview with TV Globo:
"There are some fight scenes in this movie that are very violent. And it's a fighting style different from what we've seen before. But really you will get to see Spider-Man using his fists in a 'fight or flight' situation.”
Well, that certainly piqued my interest! We’ve already seen footage of Peter Parker as Spider-Man bloodied and bruised, and he obviously finds himself in a hellish situation where he’s going to get his ass kicked while he battles the likes of Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman, and Lizard. I’m not quite sure if we’ll see him fighting Doc Ock. In fact, I think they will fight alongside each other.
Anyway, what do you think about Holland’s comment about the violence in the film?
In the movie, “for the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”
The movie also stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, and Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin. Other villains set to appear include Sandman and Lizard, we just don’t know what actors are playing those roles. Other cast members include Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Tony Revolori as Flash, and Hannibal Buress as Coach Wilson.
The Jon Watts-directed film is to to be released in theaters on December 17, 2021.
