Tom Holland Says Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Aren't in SPIDER-MAN 3
As you know, there have been exciting reports regarding Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. The most exciting reports that we’ve seen involve the inclusion of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield playing their versions of Spider-Man in the film.
Well, in a recent interview with Esquire, Tom Holland said that Maguire and Garfield are not in the movie. When asked about their inclusion he said:
"No, no, they will not be appearing in this film. Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we’ve been making."
If Maguire and Garfield are in the movie, it’s not like Holland is going to come out and say, “Of course they are!” Denying them being in the film is his best option. And you know what? I could actually see Marvel hiding that information from him. It wouldn’t be the first time they kept information from him! It was pointed out to me that Holland also previously said that he thought Tony Stark's funeral was a wedding in Avengers: Endgame because Marvel kept him in the dark.
On top of Maguire and Garfield, It’s also been reported that Jamie Foxx is coming back as Electro and Alfred Molina will be back as Doctor Octopus. Then there are the reports of Kirsten Dunst returning as Mary Jane Watson, and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. Everything seems to point to Maguire and Garfield appearing in the film, especially with the multiverse being blown wide open! But, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Spider-Man 3 is being directed by Jon Watts. Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, and Jacob Batalon will also all be returning. The movie is currently set to be released on December 17th, 2021.
