Tom Holland Unfollows Sony on Social Media After Spending the Day With RDJ

Tom Holland may be tied to two more Spider-Man films for Sony, but he doesn’t have to be happy about it. If things remain as they are, the next films will be really weird. It will be like Peter Parker and Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) have amnesia. No recollection of Tony Stark, the guy who made Peter’s suit, recruited him to the Avengers (the who?), and was his mentor. No relationship with Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau). No memory of the last few years of their lives. Bizarre.

But as much as I am sure Holland will stay professional and still do a great job in the role, he is under no obligation to be happy about it in his personal life. While I’m sure he doesn’t want to get caught up in the drama of making a statement, he made his own small protest last night. After posting pictures from spending a day with Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man himself, Holland quietly unfollowed Sony on social media. Now, I wasn’t personally monitoring Holland’s social media myself, so I can’t tell you he was absolutely following them before this, but I can tell you that he follows Marvel, as well as many others, and Sony does have a social media presence, and he is not a fan. Other news sources have reported the news as well.

I think this is a good way of making his stance while not endangering his job. He is under no obligation to like the studio who is making his movies, and making decisions he is not on board with.

I’ll add the post with the photos of Holland and Downey Jr. below for fun. What do you think about the Sony/Marvel mess?
